Kia Ora! Thank You for choosing to stay at the Lake Tekapo Cottages. Here are some infos to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

? Check out time is at 10 am. We are not pedantic about this and if you need a little longer we understand. Just leave everything open and the keys in the door.

? We have a large garden in summer and you are welcome to use any part of it to spread yourselves out in the sun, or the shade of the trees.

? There are ecumenical services held every Sunday in the Church of the Good Shepard at 10.00. The church is only two minutes walk away.

? The lakeshore is only two minutes walk. Either you can walk down Sealy St to the lake, or cross the small wooden bridge at the front (Sealy St) of the cottages and walk straight ahead to the lake.

? The shops and Restaurants are only 3-4minutes on foot. Just walk up Sealy St and turn left, walk to the main road and turn right over the bridge. Be careful crossing the state highway to go over the bridge. There is a 60kpm speed limit in place as yet.

? There are several good restaurants and Cafes in the village. Some of the menus and prices can be found in the broschure in each cottage.

? Breakfasts: Cooked breakfasts available on request, as much as you can eat, anything you want, $15 per person. Continental breakfasts served to your cottage are available at $10 each.

? Packed lunches available on request.

? Evening meals cooked in the Thai Style are available if you book them in advance. These are to be recommended. Arguably the best Thai cuisine in New Zealand. Groups up to 15 welcome. Please book ahead.

? If you need to telephone anywhere you are welcome to ask us at the Reception. We can help you.

? If you require stationary, envelopes etc, ask us at the reception.

? There are at least two internet cafes in the village if you need to pick up your mails. We also have a wireless hot spot at the cottages and most cottages have wireless broadband.

? Except for the “Pottingshed” all the cottages have washing machines and ironing facilities. If you wish, your washing and ironing to be done for you. We can organize this for you.

? If you are staying for more than one night and require fresh linen or towels tell us. We generally offer them to you every second day or daily if you wish.

? If you happen to be traveling by bus ask to have your baggage taken up to the village

? We have fishing tackle if you wish to try for some of the excellent brown trout, rainbow trout and salmon in the lakes and rivers.

? We have a vegetable and herb garden in summer. You can often buy a fresh lettuce, Pak Choi, various salads or similar. Fresh herbs such as Rosemary, Sweet Basil, Coriander, Lemon grass, various mints, and parsley are free. Just ask us to find out whats available.

? We recommend you check through you cottage before you leave. A lot of inconvenience can be caused for yourself if you forget anything!
